Communities should go Virtual

All sorts of reasons have been advanced in recent years to explain the decline of community in America, from the way we design our neighborhoods to the increased mobility of the average American to such demographic shifts as the movement of women into the labor force. But the onslaught of television and other electronic technologies is usually cited as the main culprit.

A social Media event at UK

What I'm most excited to see in this new year has a more local feel than the NFL, national politics and the crisis in Haiti. I'm excited to see what's in store for this very website.

Citizen Journalism in Lexington

With the advent of the internet, ordinary people can now express their news and views in a quick and public manner. It no longer takes a journalism degree to convey breaking news or insight on a hot issue. It merely takes a keyboard and the willingness to write or record your message.

Because of these luxuries, there is a new journalist in town...You.

Now more than ever, you can take the Lexington community by storm with news and editorial work.
